ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, I grew up in a household rich in creativity and empathy, thanks to my music teacher mother, and human service worker father. Their influences shaped my passion for storytelling, which began with creating characters and worlds in my math notebooks and evolved into a fascination with postmodern narratives. I draw inspiration from storytellers like Christopher Nolan, Charlie Kaufman, Russell T Davies, and Wes Anderson, who have all made careers out of taking their own life experiences and molding them into a Frankenstein’s monster of introspection and fiction.

My work reflects personal truths, often veiled behind genre and humor. I believe that the most personal scripts resonate widely because they tap into universal human experiences—

Everyone has been on a bad date, been through a breakup, found family at a workplace, turned to their best friend and found a stranger, or been lost navigating the death of a loved one. Through fiction, we can share our struggles and help others remedy theirs.

I have two go-to movies that ease my anxiety, others that inspired my courage to move from NY to LA, and one that rekindles my love for my parents. I remember to this day when I showed my Grandmother, a lifetime Catholic, “Spotlight” for the first time, and after it was over, she thanked me. I wrote a short film about death, and I will never forget some of the words people said to me at the premiere.

Art is important. It can change our lives while entertaining us. Try to think of anything else on this planet that can accomplish that…

That’s the impact I strive to create.
